And the Brits will do so with the Sports Series, a whole new range that will kick off with the 570S Coupe model which has just entered production. According to McLaren in an official press release earlier today (Nov. 3, 2015) the first McLaren 570Ss have rolled off the assembly line and await their new owners.
McLaren’s Sports Series will also feature the 540C Coupe and possibly a Spider (convertible) variant.
British supercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive has begun production of the first auto in its new Sports Series, the 570S, at the McLaren Production Centre in England. In our short history, we have produced a range of supercars and hypercars targeted at a core, enthusiast buyer. It’s the most affordable and easiest to drive of the McLaren cars released so far, though their iconic race experience still lies at the center of the 570S’ design.
Jolyon Nash, Executive Director – Sales and Marketing at McLaren Automotive explained: ‘The start of production of the new Sports Series cars is a pivotal moment for McLaren Automotive.

A true McLaren, the 570S employs a MonoCell II chassis and uses a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 powerplant good for 570 PS (419 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque mated to a seven- speed Seamless Shift Gearbox. The acceleration time is slated to be as short as 3.1 seconds from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph). Based on reviews of the 570S Coupe alone, it seems likely that the Sports Series range will prove exceptionally popular around the world thanks to the performance and technology it provides at a very reasonable cost.
