David Kaltschmidt and Maureen Smith of Melbourne Beach revealed that they held a winning ticket, worth $528.8 million, from the January 13 drawing at the state’s lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
Powerball winners David Kaltschmidt, 55, and Maureen Smith, 70, kept everyone in the dark until last week about their life altering win, even their children.
The world is about to meet the owners of another winning ticket from the record-shattering $1.58 billion Powerball lottery. “We just wanted a little piece of the pie, but instead we got a big piece!”
Now that they’ve been identified, Smith is “afraid it’ll make me less friendly”.
If the victor does come forward, he or she will have an option of receiving the prize in a 29-year annuity, or a lump-sum payment of $327.8 million before taxes.

Ms Smith said she and Mr Kaltschmidt did not play the lottery regularly, but that the winning numbers were ones they had played for years.
The couple is originally from NY.
The only difference is Kaltschmidt plans to retire from his engineering job and buy a new truck, the Daily News reports.
Smith said it was hard to keep their secret from their family and friends.
“We lost a lot of sleep and I lost over 10lb (4.5kg)”. Those draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday night in Tallahassee Florida at 10.59 local time.
“In all seriousness, that’s awesome, I’m happy for them”, he added. “How long you going to last?” Oh, and Smith wants a massage.
