Fitzpatrick Bids To Secure Jets Playoff Berth In Buffalo
Under new coach Todd Boyles – and with former Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick leading an offense coordinated by former Bills head coach Chan Gailey – the Jets have won five in a row and can clinch a wild-card berth with a win in Buffalo.

“In the words of the great Steve Smith”, linebacker Calvin Pace said, referring to Baltimore’s loquacious wide receiver, “‘Man, it’s going to be a bloodbath'”.
The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills end the regular season Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
“It’s onto the [New York] Jets”, Ryan concluded.
When the Bills and Jets played seven weeks ago, New York CB Darrelle Revis followed Bills WR Sammy Watkins all over the field.
The New England Patriots were handed their first divisional loss of the season Sunday as they fell in overtime to the New York Jets 26-20.
“I don’t care”, said Tomlin. “I’m not overly concerned about that element of it”. Several Bills players have dubbed the game “their Super Bowl” as the Bills are already eliminated from playoff contention for the 16 consecutive season. But the Jets went on to miss the playoffs each of the following four seasons, finishing. Watkins needs 89 yards to hit that milestone, but will likely have to do it lined up against arguably one of the best cornerbacks of all time in Darrelle Revis.
The last time the Jets were in the playoffs, Rex Ryan was their coach. Maybe the Bills can build on the longest playoff drought in North American sports-15 and counting-and we can look forward to another “wait-’til year” postseason, a ritual we know all too well.
On Monday, Ryan praised the Jets, not adding any extra fuel – but, it’s early in the week, of course. I think we’ve played enough together to have the experience of what the systems are. “This team is a complete football team”.
“This will be a playoff game for us”, left guard Richie Incongnito said after Sunday’s game. “There really is no pressure”. There’s no pressure on us.
We know how that turned out. We want to be in the role of we win, we’re in. While many players have contributed, it has been the play of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick that has ignited the offense.
Wideout Brandon Marshall caught eight passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Ryan Fitzpatrick (14) has been a difference-maker for the New York Jets this season.
“It’s just fate”, Pace said, smiling. And Eric Decker, the receiver who was only a byproduct of Peyton Manning’s greatness, who has 11 touchdowns himself – including the game-winner on Sunday. The question now becomes, can they play spoiler to the Jets?
“There was still a ton of belief and I just think you know being in the league and having experience that a lot of us do have, you can recognize when you have a good team”, Fitzpatrick said. “You can probably ask me that after (playing the Bills) and I’ll probably give you the same answer as far as we’re just anxious about whoever we’re playing in that first playoff game”.
“I think that the belief has been there from Day 1 and it hasn’t wavered”.
The 52-year-old had lofty ambitions for the season at the beginning of his tenure in January but the Bills failed to advance to the play-offs for a 16th straight year. “We’re out of it right now and you kind of look for anything that can motivate you at this point of the season, and that’s a huge motivating factor”.

It’s as routine as the interview tactics from both coaches.
