“We just have to continue to play and get better”.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Tennessee Titans can take some measure of comfort from possibly their ugliest performance this season.
New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (14) throws a pass away from Tennessee Titans’ Jurrell Casey (99) during the first half of an NFL football game Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, in East Rutherford, N.J. “It took a lot of work”, the first-year coach said.
“This is why we play the game – for the games we’re playing right now”, said Fitzpatrick, who finished 21-of-36 for 263 yards and no interceptions.
The Jets expanded the lead to 13-0 early in the second quarter on a pair of field goals from kicker Randy Bullock.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, one of the most pleasant surprises of the season, would like to keep it going in 2016 with the New York Jets if they’ll have him. He and fellow wideout Eric Decker are having a phenomenal season, and Fitzpatrick has been outstanding of late, leading the Jets to three straight wins without turning the ball over.
“That’s the media talking, it’s a trap game”, Richardson said. “We’re taking it one game at a time and looking past no one”.
It was the worst game of rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota’s career, with five sacks and only 21 of his 39 passes caught.
“I think when you have a great team, this is the time you usually click, in November, December and going into the postseason”, cornerback Darrelle Revis said.
“I played golf on Sundays”, he said.
“We had yet to start fast this year and jump out to a lead and play from ahead”, head coach Todd Bowles said of the Jets, who were outscored 140-121 in the first half of their first 12 games.
“That was not good, ” Mularkey said.
Tennessee had three three-and-out drives in the first half, as well as another drive that end with a Mariota interception on third down.
On the injury to Devin Smith: “He’s getting an MRI tomorrow”. Being a playoff-caliber team might not be enough to get the Jets a wild-card berth. The Titans blocked the extra point, but Da’Norris Searcy was offside and, 5 yards closer, Bullock made his next attempt.
And, consider this: Fitzpatrick has been playing the last six games with a left thumb injury that required surgery a few weeks ago and has had him in a brace.
Fitzpatrick threw a short pass to Marshall, who stiff-armed a defender and tip-toed down the right sideline for a 69-yard TD that put the Jets up 27-0 before halftime. The Jets will need to handle the Cowboys in the same fashion as they did the Titans if they want to maintain momentum heading into their huge match up with the 11-2 Patriots in week 16.
“There was no communication to upstairs or the linebackers”, Mularkey said. In other words, Just Give All of Us the Damn Ball. Morgan has 4 ½ sacks in 10 games, while McCluster ranks third in rushing and is the Titans’ punt returner. The Titans also lost at least 10 games in 2004 and 2005.

The score in the second half was Titans 8, Jets 3. Mariota became the wide receiver and caught a 41-yard pass by running back Antonio Andrews. Calvin Pryor tripped on the play, leaving Mariota wide open. “It was about time for us to play a complete football game”. “But there’s a time constraint on that with three weeks left in the season”. Marshall (11) and Decker (nine) have a combined 20 touchdown receptions on the season, tied for best in the league along side Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns.
