Fitzpatrick, defense lead Jets way over Titans
Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick noticed and got a quick snap, tossing an easy pass to an uncovered Brandon Marshall for a 69-yard TD. They will need to hold up their performance over the last three weeks if they want to make a playoff push. Walker said they just didn’t come ready to play.

There are several convoluted postseason scenarios, but the most simple in favor of the Jets remains this: If they win their last three games, they’re in if either the Steelers or Chiefs lose once.
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota (8) catches a pass during the second half of an NFL football game against the New York Jets Sunday, in East Rutherford, N.J. Mariota scored a touchdown on the play. “This is what all the work is for”. “We’re all in this thing together trying to win and we’ve all got that common goal”.
“We went up to the” line of scrimmage, Fitzpatrick said, “and there was nobody over there on Brandon”. The Jets led 27-0 at halftime, and the lowly Titans (3-10) mustered only one second-half score.
“That’s what we were dealt and the bed we made ourselves”, the coach said.
Through two quarters, NY dominated the stats sheet: 324-72 in total yards, 17-4 in first downs and 19:47-10:13 in time of possession.
Good thing Todd Bowles managed to convince Gailey to return to the National Football League, because Gailey has been doing a fabulous job running the Jets’ offense. We ran the ball.
The Jets extended the lead to 20-0 on a 16-yard touchdown pass from Fitzpatrick to Powell, who broke four tackles on his way to the end zone. A 14-play drive on their opening possession that was capped by Fitzpatrick’s 16-yard toss to Decker, who caught his ninth TD pass of the season. Overall this season, Wright has 33 catches for 390 yards and three touchdowns.
Fitzpatrick is making $3.25 million this season from the contract he signed with the Texans, and could command even bigger money in the offseason if he continues his strong finish.
On whether this is the most complete game the Jets have played this year: “I don’t think we played a complete game”. “He realized what was going on as well”.
Meanwhile the Titans defense struggled for the second week in a row.
“There was no communication to upstairs or the linebackers”, Mularkey said.
The only bit of suspense left was whether or not the Jets would record the 12th shutout in team history. Tennessee fooled the Jets for a touchdown on a trick play, when running back Antonio Andrews threw a 41-yard scoring pass to Mariota from a Wildcat formation.
“It was all bad throws this week”, Andrews said.
Cornerback Darrelle Revis remains uncertain after missing the past two games with a concussion, but he returned to practice on Wednesday.

First of all, there’s the obvious Jets connection – Keyshawn was on the Jets when the book was released. He is 2-5 against the Jets with the Titans, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars…. This, of course, has been a fait accompli since a 1-6 start earned head coach Ken Whisenhunt his walking papers, but the disastrous state of the AFC South at least technically kept the Titans in the division race into week 13.
