And that quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, says he wants back in too.
“Just seeing Bryce and Geno grow so much the past year is really encouraging, and I’m just proud of those guys, We’ll be OK”.
Fitzpatrick did a good job as the starting quarterback for the Jets next season, having a career year with 3905 passing yards, 31 passing touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Right now, however, Fitzpatrick doesn’t have a team but during a recent interview with SiriusXM NFL radio, the athlete confidently said that he will play next season.
Without further ado, here are the top five reasons the Jets should keep Fitzpatrick heading into the regular season. However, Fitzpatrick mentioned that he will be playing football this season. He’s a free agent.
And while both sides haven’t closed the door on a reunion, there hasn’t been any movement in the direction.
Fitzpatrick is asking for a market-value contract of $10 million or more but the Jets couldn’t allow this to happen.
The Jets? They drafted Christian Hackenberg out of Penn State in the second round, suggesting they think he can become a starting quarterback for them. This means there’s still a big chance these two parties could work out an agreeable deal which would put the athlete in the starter position. They’re unlikely to find anyone better than him, and he’s unlikely to find another place where he’s guaranteed to start, as he will be if he stays with the Jets.

“If the Jets don’t understand that we haven’t had that in a long time, then we need to kind of re-evaluate what we’re doing here”, he added.
