Five Academic Honors for Women’s Track & Field
The four members of the Calvin women’s track and field team to receive the USTFCCCA individual award include seniors Sarah Danner (Watkins Glen, NY/Charles Dickerson HS), Kate Ardinger (Elmhurst, IL/Timothy Christian HS) and Kimby Penning (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) and sophomore Lauren Strohbehn (Stillwater, MN/St. Croix Preparatory HS). The women were tied for 20th out of 170 teams that earned the honor with a 3.55 GPA.

All 16 Ivy League track & field teams earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors and Penn rising senior Sam Mattis was named male Outdoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year, it was announced.
The Cowgirls, who posted a 3.24 team GPA, are one of three women’s teams from the conference to earn honors, joined by Houston Baptist and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Capping what was one of the best seasons on the court, the UMass tennis team added high academic honors to the 2014-15 campaign as the Minutewomen were named an ITA All-Academic Team as well. He or she must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship, or they must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 in a relay event. The distance runner broke her own school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2015 NCAA East Preliminary Round this past May with a time of 10:10.88. He graduated cum laude with a degree in mechanical engineering this past May thanks to a 3.71 GPA.
