Massive security mechanisms have been put in place like checkpoints and concrete barriers in Arab areas of east Jerusalem. Still, authorities have failed to halt the spontaneous attacks. Hours later, three were killed when a Palestinian motorist opened fire on a line of cars stuck in traffic in the West Bank.

Ezra Schwartz, 18, of the Boston suburb of Sharon, was reportedly returning from visiting a memorial to the three young people kidnapped and killed in 2014 when he was ambushed near the settlement of Alon Shvut.

Two Israelis were stabbed to death by a Palestinian man Thursday at an office complex in Tel Aviv.

The Palestinians, who lack citizenship and wish to establish a Palestinian state, may also be driven by pessimism as the last round of talks to end the conflict ended in April 2014 without results, and as leaders of both sides blame each other for responsibility of the increasing violence.

“Al-Khalil radio station has repeatedly broadcast content which promotes and encourages terror and acts of violence against Israeli civilians and security forces”, the army said in a statement. Ezra was spending his gap year studying in Israel. Israeli forces arrested the attacker.

Antoine Shalhat, a researcher in Israeli affairs, told the news agency yesterday that: “Israeli companies are moving their businesses to Israel to circumvent the European Union decision to avoid European Union labelling”.
