Five Examples Of Prince’s Insane Guitar Skills
As we continue to process Prince’s tragic and untimely death, we’ve prepped a list showing five examples of his insane guitar work.

Prince was not only a singular performer but was also a spectacular musician. Thankfully for fans he wasn’t always successful especially when the Purple One was performing covers and appearing on television shows.
The High Priest of Pop has graced the stages of Saturday Night Live and American Bandstand, but one his most rollicking TV performances is this funky rendition of Everlasting Now, in support of his One Night Alone…
A spokesperson said afterwards Prince was feeling much better and was resting at home. It nearly didn’t happen: George Harrison’s widow, Olivia, wanted the performance of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” to be limited to people who knew George – unlike Prince, who later claimed he had never even heard the song before it was sent to him to learn for the performance. Prince’s redemptive solo, however, was anything but.
Among Prince’s many accomplishments over the past 30+ years is delivering the best halftime show in Super Bowl history. I am writing this about a specific two minutes and 50 seconds of Prince’s life.
In a tribute performance marking Geroge Harrison’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Prince, perform’s Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps alongside Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and other musicians.

Like all great virtuosi, Prince uses the entire range of his instrument, dives headlong into daring hammer-ons and somehow, amid all of that, keeps melody at the forefront. A smile, ever so brief, later curls up Prince’s face as this lengthy solo nears its end.
