Five goal Liverpool continue impressive form to ease by Hull

Putting the Burnley result aside, the Reds have flown out of the blocks this season and are playing a brand of football that has everyone talking.

For all the optimism floating around Anfield, the 2-0 defeat at Burnley is still hard to swallow.

It would be nice to have a clean sheet one time in the season.

“Do we say, OK, Loris had the game against Derby. We didn’t care about the opponent before we played Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham, it’s not about the name in our preparations”.

Klopp added: “We have two very strong goalkeepers and we think about how they can perform and how their specific skills can help the team”.

It was a match Klopp’s side, on the back of beating the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, were expected to comfortably win against the Clarets – but it turned out to be anything but, despite them dominating in terms of possession and chances created. If you miss, it’s still positive. “You can see that their mentality is good and their work rate is up there with the best”.

“That s what we have to learn”. “It is not easier against Hull”.

With no European commitment to distract the squad; Jurgen Klopp have enough time to prepare for matches and give his players more time to rest.

This was best demonstrated by the manager’s decision to drop long-time first-choice keeper Simon Mignolet to give summer signing Loris Karius his Premier League debut.

And ex Liverpool striker Collymore was thrilled to see Karius in Klopp’s starting line-up ahead of Simon Mignolet.

Jake Livermore is likely to return to the side after serving his one-game suspension.

Sakho failed to make the most of his doping reprieve, falling foul of Klopp after reporting late for a series of team meetings during a pre-season tour to the United States.

Further goals from Sadio Mane, Milner again and Philippe Coutinho were only answered by a David Meyler strike, meaning Liverpool ran out 5-1 winners to continue their march in the Premier League. Daniel Sturridge has also returned to training after a recent minor injury problem.

But it was Tigers caretaker boss Phelan – on his 54th birthday – who ended up being most annoyed.

Hull City will inevitably sit deep as they are away from home and especially when considering the way Liverpool have attacked this season.
