Three shooting victims – a man and two women – were discovered dead by police at a residence in Appling, Georgia, just before 8 p.m. local time, Columbia Sheriffs Department Captain Andy Shedd said.

Lauren Hawes says her 50-year-old father had threatened to kill her grandmother and mother a day before the fatal shootings.

Eight members of the same family were shot to death execution-style in four homes in Pike County, Ohio, and more than 30 people have been questioned in the search for the killer or killers, officials said on Friday.

A man suspected of killing five people in a pair of shootings Friday night in Georgia later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

He also tried unsuccessfully to set his home on fire, the statement said.

The victims found at the home on Johnson Drive were identified as Roosevelt Burns, 75, Rheba Mae Dent, 85, and Trequila Clark, 31.

Investigators believe the victims were related to Hawes’ wife.

Murray says she thought Hawes was a nice guy, but said he made a “stupid” decision.

Lauren Hawes says her father was upset after her mother ended their relationship.

Investigators were able to confirm the three had been shot by Hawes, Captain Andy Shedd said in the statement. “And there we had two victims”.

Police identified those killed at the second location as Lizzy Williams, 59; and Shelly Williams, 62.

In the AP interview, Shedd said: “I’ve been with the Columbia County Sheriff’s office for 26 years, and this is the largest shooting in terms of victims that I’ve ever encountered”.
