If Tatum does end up spurning the Blue Bloods to play in his hometown, he would likely speed up the Billikens’ rebuilding process dramatically, if only for a year.
Duke, the reigning NCAA national champions, has had the top recruiting class in the nation each of the last two years as mentioned by most prominent publications.

Tatum and Giles were roommates earlier this month while leading the United States U-19 team to a gold medal in Greece, and they’ve consistently said they’re interested in maybe attending college together. Tatum is viewed as No. 2 prospect by ESPN.com and the No. 3 recruit by Rivals and Scout.
