There was evidence, he said, to believe the militants had travelled from Khyber Agency (where a search operation was launched a night before) and used the route from Kagawala, a village adjacent to the base to reach the spot to launch the attack.
The security forces killed 13 attackers in the bloody gun battle that followed.
“Pakistan will only share evidences with the Afghan government and will actively pursue the case instead of lodging a protest”, said a source, who attended the meeting that came three days after Taliban militants stormed an air force base in Badhaber that killed at least 42 people, including 23 air force personnel. Involvement or sponsorship of Indian intelligence agency RAW and Afghan Intelligence agency can not be ruled out in this latest attack on installations of Pakistan Army.
Talking about the Badhaber carnage, the minister said Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed that terrorism is a common scourge.
“There are evidences that terrorists had telephonic contacts within Afghanistan. But the TTP (Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan) and other people are there (in Afghanistan)”, Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, said.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman on Monday said the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will not hesitate to render any sacrifice to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
“We will obviously share the evidence with the Afghan authorities because both sides are committed not to allowing our territory against each other so we can take coordinated action”.
“The government of Afghanistan strongly rejects reports alleging that the Peshawar attack was planned and controlled from Afghanistan”, Khaama press late Saturday quoted Ghani as saying. He said the deep-rooted network of extremists in North Waziristan has been eliminated.

A security official told dpa that Pakistan will not take “strict measures” against Kabul for not stopping the attack.
