Five things the Dallas Cowboys need to do better in Week Two

Additionally, Alabama dominated in JerryWorld when it held a semifinal College Football Playoff game in January. It wasn’t the fact that they lost, it was the way they played the game on Sunday against the Giants, with too many miscues on offense, a lack of a strong defensive unit and the way the game ended for the Cowboys with the decision made by Terrance Williams on the final play of the game.

FRISCO Wide receiver Dez Bryant had just one catch for 8 yards in the Dallas Cowboys 20-19 season-opening loss against the New York Giants on Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

In Week 1, Dallas hosted the New York Giants at home.

However, in a scene that Dallas has feared yet grown accustomed to, a pre-season injury struck starting QB Tony Romo, who had an injury-plagued season himself a year ago, and required the early use of reserve QB Dak Prescott. The one play that I think that cost them this game was the catch by Williams with little time on the clock, and he did not get out of bounds.

Ben McAdoo appeared to crack a smile in the locker room after the Giants’ win over the Cowboys on Sunday.

Beasley and tight end Jason Witten were targeted on 26 of Prescott’s passing attempts, and running backs and a backup tight end were targeted on five more passes.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys were hoping the team wouldn’t miss a beat with Prescott under center instead of Romo. The 36-year-old is likely to miss at least another month after breaking a bone in his back in the preseason.

“Yesterday was a great win for all of us”, Cruz said. “He felt he was covered, saw me moving around the pocket and found the open window”.

McAdoo knows he will get a better view of his team in Week 2 than in the opener.

Running back Ezekiel Elliot – Dallas’ top pick in the 2016 NFL Draft – carried the ball 20 times for 51 yards and a touchdown.

With just 12 seconds left in the game and the Cowboys on their own 46, rookie quarterback Dak Prescott hit Williams with a 14-yard pass. He had 3 deep balls thrown to him, two in the end zone. But the Giants got conservative after the break, which played a role in the team going scoreless for the first 24 minutes of the second half. However, assessments must be made and make them we did. “We’ll continue to attack Dez and go after them in those coverages when they give them to us”. The “situational” mistakes, which we see consistently – and we saw a bunch from the Giants a season ago – are just hard for me to fathom from players at the highest levels of their sport.

“Drew Brees, it’s insane how he is getting better every year”, said Giants linebacker Jonathan Casillas, who played with Brees on the Saints. However, Dez Bryant was awful, Terrance Williams made a stupid mistake, and so another season begins looking ominous. It was Cruz’s first game in almost two years because of injuries.

So now, the Cowboys have to work to avoid another familiar feeling: early-season losses piling up while Romo watches from the sideline.

Cruz had four catches for 34 yards, which in a vacuum doesn’t look like a particularly impressive outing. “We’ll learn from it”.
