FK Qarabag 0, Tottenham Hotspur 1: Patient Spurs seal qualification to Europa
Chelsea have been porous in defence this season and this lack of defensive steel could make a huge difference in this afternoon’s London derby with Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham have gone unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League matches, and they are only two-points away from the Champions League qualification spaces.
“I think the senior players and the young players that come through the academy can help us in the very busy period we have ahead”.
Harry Kane fired Tottenham into the knockout stages of the Europa League as they finally overcame stubborn Group J minnows Qarabag 1-0 in Baku.
But, as much as Kane tries to temper expectations, he simply can’t keep a lid on the optimism bubbling around White Hart Lane. Nacer Chadli and Alex Pritchard remain sidelined through injury, while Erik Lamela is a doubt after missing the midweek trip to Qarabag.
Hazard has scored in his last three encounters with Tottenham and this could lay the scene for him to rediscover the form he’s been missing this season.
The Blues have conceded 23 goals so far this term, compared to just 32 for the entire 2014/2015 Premier League campaign.
“But the bottom line is that this is the easy part of the season”.
The victory did, though, provided Chelsea with successive wins for just the second time this season.
On the one hand, Chelsea need to win games and claw their way back up the league as quickly as possible – and a victory over Spurs would go a long way towards helping their cause, restoring confidence and building momentum. You will probably have to ask player individually if they felt exhausted at the end.
Not only was the 0-0 draw against Chelsea tiresome and frustrating for Tottenham supporters who had to settle for a point. Every player has his price, but if Kane ever does get sold it’ll be to the continent and not to a Premier League rival, and it’ll be for more money than God.

Jose Mourinho admits it’s hard not to see that Tottenham’s Harry Kane is a top striker, amid rumours of a potential transfer offer. The Soccer Saturday pundits and Jamie Redknapp have provided Sky Bet with their tips, including Phil Thompson’s 33/1 prediction for Kane to score first in a 2-1 Spurs win and Matt Le Tissier’s 12/1 fancy for Christian Eriksen to score a free-kick.
