Flag firefighters raised at ground zero returns to site

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum plans to open a new exhibit featuring the Ground Zero flag that three New York City firefighters raised above the World Trade Center rubble on 9/11.

Two years ago, the flag was turned in by an unidentified man at a firehouse in Everett, Washington.

The flag will be donated to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in NY this Sunday, September 11, 2016.

In October of 2014, a man named Brian showed up at an Everett Fire Station with a flag in a plastic bag.

It even became the subject of a History Channel documentary, which sought to solve the mystery of the missing flag.
