Flamini thanks Mourinho for Cech ‘favour’

Now Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has gone on to echo the popular sentiment that Arsenal are serious contenders for the Premier League title and has stated that the lavish spending in transfer market over the last few years has been one of the main reasons why the Gunners have become so competitive.

Mourinho has labelled Arsenal as genuine contenders for this year’s Premier League title, before the two teams clash in the Community Shield on Sunday.

The Community Shield encounter will present Arsene Wenger an immediate opportunity to bounce back from Mourinho’s mind games and tirades, and also clear his unenviable record against Chelsea under the “Special One“.

We do not listen too much to what people think or say. Mourinho, beginning his annual campaign to get under Wenger’s skin even earlier than normal this season, had cited the acquisitions of Alexis Sánchez, Mesut Özil, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy as evidence that Arsenal were not as careful with their money as many people believe.

The Serbia defender believes Cech may find it hard to play against his former club so soon after his departure. “They didn’t try to get him back on loan”. Next game is on Sunday against Arsenal.

Arsenal won the FA Cup for the second successive year in May but finished third in the Premier League last season, 12 points behind winners Chelsea.

In a number of national newspapers, he said: “Eden is coming with a big status now and was voted in the top 10 players in Europe past year”. He’s alongside Messi and Ronaldo, depending on the season they have.

“I need to give players minutes”.

This isn’t the first time that Mourinho has criticised Wenger, with the former Real Madrid boss calling his counterpart a “voyeur” [BBC], and a “specialist in failure” [BBC] in the past. It is important you are calm. “Before and after the game, I hope and I’m sure, they will give Petr respect”.

“He’s at the stage of his career, between 33 and 37, where a goalkeeper can be at his peak and he has the desire”.

“I don’t think it’s down to different training methods, it’s just down to him to keep at the top physically and with his experience he will always improve”.
