Fleet News: Tesla Model S complete one billion cumulative electric miles
This, Tesla claims, means that they have “saved” more than half a million tons of CO2. Although used prices are starting to come down, buying a new Tesla is no small matter, even with the several thousand dollars knocked off the sticker price courtesy of state and federal incentives.

When the announcement for Model3 was made initially, it was planned to be displayed in 2016 and launched in 2017. JB’s slide is a high-level look into when Model 3 will be in full production. The Communication Boss of Tesla went on Twitter to clarify that despite all the speculations, their current plan is still to debut the Model 3 next year and start its production in 2017.
Since Tesla Motors and Elon Musk are tight-lipped about the upcoming Model X, all we can do is search the Internet for hints that might give us an insight or two about the model. Tesla will also be using its own batteries this time around, sourced from its ‘Gigafactory’ being built in Nevada.
In February 2012, the company said the Model X would be available by the end of 2013.
Tesla will kick off this fleet milestone with the launch of the Next Billion Miles Tour which will travel around North America, Europe and Asia offering potential customers the opportunity to experience the Model S. The Tesla official revealed Model X will have a towing capacity of “close to 10,000 pounds”, or 4,535 kg Wait, what?
