Flickr Reintroduces Paid “Pro” Tier

As you may recall, Yahoo made a number of significant changes to its pricing tiers in spring 2013, which saw it introducing new tiers like “ad-free” and “doublr” (double the storage space), while dropping the older version of Flickr Pro.

Pro members also get free shipping on Flickr store items within the US (or 50% off internationally), so the subscription could very well pay for itself depending on how often you use those services.

Photographers can take advantage of improved navigation for viewing data on their photos, and they can receive more insights on their “most popular and impactful photos”. The company hopes existing and new users will find it worth paying for since it includes discounts on Adobe software, improved analytics, and even a Pro badge. They’ll also likely appreciate the 20% discount on the the yearly Adobe Creative Cloud Phototography plan.

The new features may make a few more users want to pay, and it’s an especially sweet deal if you already subscribed to the ad-free option; you’ll be getting more bang for your buck.

Another perk of Flickr Pro is improved analytics.

Available for $5.99 per month (or $49.99 per year), Flickr Pro is the company’s enticement to convert more users to paid ones.

It’s been two years since Flickr killed off Flickr Pro as a premium Flickr experience, opting instead to give everyone a flat-rate experience to compete with the likes of Facebook and what was then known as Google+ Photos.
