American Airlines flights are expected to resume Monday at the three New York-area airports, as well as the three serving Washington, D.C. The airline’s operations in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a limit number of flights in and out of Philadelphia resumed Sunday afternoon.
There were about 90 delays and 210 cancellations at Logan as of 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Airlines cancelled more than 5,500 flights in the US and beyond this weekend as a blizzard conditions, cold and ice hits much of the USA, with East Coast cities feeling the most impact. There are already more than 200 flight cancellations for Tuesday, with the bulk from United Airlines’ regional carrier United Express at Washington Dulles.

Officials say planes may soon start flying again at airports in New Jersey and New York City.
“Our priority is protecting the safety of passengers and employees who will travel to the airports when flights resume”.
“Today is going to be a very intense clean up day”, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” Sunday. There were a little more than 22,000 flights scheduled to, from or within the USA, according to FlightAware.

All major airlines issued waivers for travel over the weekend, allowing passengers to rebook onto earlier or later flights to avoid the storms. “Passengers should check with their airlines for information about their specific flights”, a media statement said.
