Flight from Richmond makes emergency landing in Philadelphia
Philadelphia’s airport said it halted flights temporarily after two flights made emergency landings.

Airline officials say one passenger aboard Friday morning’s Piedmont Airlines flight from Richmond, Virginia, requested a medical evaluation but did not need to be hospitalized.
The Philadelphia Airport stopped traffic at Philadelphia Airport because of a plane emergency early Friday.
Investigators initially reported slides were used for the evacuation. “No injuries were reported”. In the first one, the FAA says Republic Airlines 4518, bound for Philadelphia, landed right after reporting steering problems.
The emergency involved an American Eagle flight, the airport said.
Both incidents occurred just after 8 a.m. ET, according to an FAA spokesperson.
Eyewitnesses on Twitter reported seeing the plane possibly making an emergency landing with smoke coming out of the aircraft. That ground stop has since been lifted and operations have resumed, though passengers should expect delays.

The plane landed safely and was towed to a gate, Feinstein said.
