For one magical night, Chicagoans will be able to hear satirical Kiwi-inflected folk songs under the stars at Millennium Park.
New Zealand comedy duo Flight Of The Conchords are coming to North America this summer for a lengthy tour. Clement and McKenzie have new material in the works, which they’ll play exclusively at these shows. “I’m thrilled to get back on the road with over half of the original band”, McKenzie joked in a statement. The band will also be performing new material on the road.
The two mockumentarians, who came to fame in the US with their hit 2008 self-titled HBO series and the Grammy-winning 2009 album “The Distant Future”, lately have been busy on many separate fronts.
The parody pair have also announced a partnership with the anti-poverty initiative Global Citizen, which “engage[s] and motivate[s] Global Citizens across the United States to take action to end extreme poverty by 2030”.
