After the flood destroyed his home, he says he and his family were forced to flee in a canoe, and will now have to live in a camper for six months until the damage is repaired.

“KARMA: Anti-Gay Bigot Tony Perkins Gets Punished By An Angry God, Flooded Out Of Home”, railed the headline for a story at AddictingInfo.org. “God destroys home of anti-gay leader Tony Perkins in flood of ‘biblical proportions, ‘ ” insisted Raw Story’s header.
He shared pictures of the damage on his Facebook page.
Perkins spoke to the Family Research Council, of which he is president, of his experience in the Louisiana floods, which have been described as the worst natural disaster in the United States since 2012’s Hurricane Sandy.
In 2015, during an interview with Messianic Jewish pastor Jonathan Cahn, he agreed that Hurricane Joaquin was a “sign of God’s wrath”, and said: “God is trying to send us a message”.
The Louisiana residence of an anti-gay pastor has been flooded less than a year after he called a hurricane a message from God.
“We had about 10ft of water at the end of our driveway. Our house flooded, a few of our cars flooded”.
Thirteen people have died in floods across the southern U.S. state, and tens of thousands of people have been left stranded in their homes and cars. Unlike most other Louisiana residents affected by the flooding, Perkins said crews are already working to fix his house.
Maybe tell that to the 39,999 other people who lost their homes.
Taylor Swift has donated £1m to victims of the flooding.
Many people who commented on the post, were quick to point out his previous anti-LGBT statements.
