Talking to Radio Pakistan, Ahmed Kamal said that at least 109 people have died so far due to monsoon rains in the country and mostly deaths were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Meanwhile, widespread rain again occurred in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, the Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), Islamabad and Kashmir on Saturday.
Around 350,000 people have been evacuated from the banks of the Indus in past two days. The government said it has provided over 32,000 tents, 2009 tones of ration, 1,500 tarpaulins and 8,467 blankets to flood victims.
A senior official working with relief efforts in flood-hit areas on the condition of anonymity said that it is a known fact that women, children and elderly people are more vulnerable during natural calamities.
The authority said that 472 relief camps and 150 medical camps have also been set up for the affectees.

Summer rain monsoon starts in Pakistan from around mid-July and lasts until about the end of August. The monsoon last year killed almost 400 and inundated thousands of acres of farmland.
