Florida Chamber stands by ‘low-propensity’ primary voter impact
More than two-thirds of the registered voters in Cochise County had no interest in participating in Tuesday’s primary election, allowing just 21,150 people to pick the candidates who will square off in the November 8 general election.

Early voters were encouraged to vote and return their ballot quickly so they can be processed and those results ready for announcement on election night.
Turnout was 27 percent in Arizona’s last statewide primary. In Leon County alone, nearly 15,00 people have voted by mail with another 14,000 that voted early according to the Florida Division of Elections. The total does not include provisional ballots.
Early voting ahead of Florida’s primary election is ending. The location that coincides with your registered address (on your voter information) is where you can cast your vote on election day.
A third candidate is Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood.
The Republican advantage is more pronounced in the House, where they outnumber Democrats 79-41.
The council election and the franchise agreements are non-partisan and will appear on every voter’s ballot.

In local races, the vote for Lee County Supervisor of Elections is set to head to a contentious runoff after leading candidates current Lee County Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington and Tommy Doyle failed to garner enough votes for a majority win. District 13 is seen as crucial to those efforts. “In terms of voting, there isn’t any insurance that covers a mistake here”. Challenger Gil Williams received almost 23 percent of the votes with 90. Democrats will pick between Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente, Alan Grayson, Pam Keith, Reginald Luster and Patrick Murphy.
The volume of internet traffic hitting the Cochise County Elections Department website caused it to crash before the first results could be posted.
The others in the race were former Secretary of State Ken Bennett, retired Air Force pilot Wendy Rogers and businessman Shawn Redd.
In Cochise County, District 1 incumbent Pat Call eliminated challenger Tom Crosby in the Republican primary for the Board of Supervisors. This was one of the closer races of the night with Diamond taking in 54 percent of the vote to Lynn with almost 46 percent.

In St. Johns County, Sheriff David Shoar crushed his Republican opponent.
