It hasn’t looked pretty at times, but Florida is undefeated heading into its showdown at Tennessee next week after cruising to a win over North Texas.

Del Rio completed 14 of 25 passes for 186 yards with no touchdowns and one interception before leaving the game. “Somebody else will play and we’ll get some guys ready and move forward and get ready to go play next week”. The Gator defense took away the same number of yards in sacks alone, recording seven for 53 yards of combined North Texas loss. The previous mark was 59 yards allowed against Western Carolina in 2006. He’s bigger than Del Rio at 6 feet 4 and 240 pounds and is a bit faster. He eventually got up and walked to the locker room without any assistance. “We’ll see what happens”, McElwain said. That’s how much I care about our players.

Players from both teams came onto the field, but there were no altercations. “We try to hold them to zero”.

On the next play, Florida guard Martez Ivey was ejected for grabbing linebacker Fred Scott by the facemask during a run. The game will kick off an SEC Network triple-header that also features SC hosting Texas A&M and Missouri traveling to LSU for the first time. “The guy’s got to be able to go”, he said. The Florida Gators fall to no. 19.

Florida: The tune-up games are over. He threw for 2,777 yards, with 19 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Dvoracek and UNT coach Seth Littrell are Oklahoma graduates and played for the Sooners under coach Bob Stoops. You want to be the guy that’s got the ball in his hands. It’s a great opportunity for Austin (Appleby), Felipe (Franks) and Kyle (Trask). “They’re starting to understand what it takes for the preparation to help you even play faster giving some of the keys these teams give you”. He and freshman Chris Leak led the Gators to a 21-20 win in Knoxville during national title season. Gators coach Jim McElwain after the game all but confirmed the former Alabama walk-on and Oregon State transfer would miss the Tennessee game.

“Yeah, he’s got a bum leg and he should be back sometime”, McElwain said.

Fans are hoping the “third time is the charm” for the Checker Neyland campaign as the Vols lost when fans did it the last two seasons. It looks like they could be without him going into this weekend’s game against the Tennessee Volunteers. In a week, North Texas travels to Rice for what may well be a deciding factor in who lands in last place in CUSA West. Fairly amusing, until you remember Florida has an 11-game winning streak.
