Florida deputy shot in ankle during traffic stop
A Seminole County Sheriff’s deputy was recovering at home Friday after being shot Thursday evening during a chase that spanned two counties.

Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said they were investigating a string of Altamonte burglaries and attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle with a man and woman inside.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said traffic at the Aloma-Semoran intersection will be closed for the next four to five hours.
“He’s doing well, considering the circumstances”, said Seminole County Deputy Chief Dennis Lemma.
The alleged gunman was also wounded and taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. One deputy was shot.
Authorities said the deputies broke off the pursuit, but they continued to monitor the suspect’s whereabouts from a helicopter.
When the vehicle crashed into another vehicle at the busy intersection, the driver and passenger got out of the vehicle. She is charged with resisting an arrest without violence. He cleared that jam and then fired and struck another deputy, the affidavit said.

Multiple agencies are involved in the investigation.
