“I foresee both guys playing”, McElwain said Wednesday.

Florida is set to face Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., on Saturday.

For the second consecutive week, Will Grier will start at quarterback for the Gators. McElwain said the plan going in will probably be to play both quarterbacks again.

Grier started last week in the Gators’ 31-24 victory over East Carolina.

Tight end Jake McGee said there’s not a noticeable difference between the two quarterbacks in terms of skill and how they run the offense. “You don’t take the guy out because he’s filling it up”.

Both quarterbacks still rank in the top 20 nationally in passer rating, and Grier is 26-for-35 for 317 yards, four touchdowns and an interception, while Harris is 19-for-27 for 269 yards and two touchdowns.

McElwain does not see Harris’ experiences as an advantage over Grier, a redshirt freshman in his first road game at the college level.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida is down to two scholarship quarterbacks with the departure of Skyler Mornhinweg to Columbia University. McElwain says, “If a guy’s hitting it and distributing it and has a good stroke, then we’ll go with it”. I think that’s a really good thing.
