Florida Gators QB Luke Del Rio ruled out against Tennessee Volunteers
Florida offensive guard Tyler Jordan will miss a second straight game as he recovers from eye surgery, and receiver Antonio Callaway is questionable after missing the North Texas game with a quadriceps injury.

Del Rio, however, took a blow to his left knee in a 32-0 win over North Texas and won’t play when the 19th-ranked Gators visit Knoxville Saturday to face the 14th-ranked Volunteers. He has completed 62 of 101 passes for 762 yards with six touchdown passes and two interceptions for the 3-0 Gators. McElwain said Callaway is still “hurting pretty good” but “will try to do everything” to play Saturday against Tennessee.
After bursting onto the scene in his freshman season, Callaway continued his playmaking ways during the first two games of 2016. “We’re not going to change as far as throwing the ball down the field”.
McElwain says “he’s got to be running 100 per cent for us to put him out there”. It certainly sounds like McMillian will join redshirt sophomore quarterback Luke Del Rio (knee) and sophomore right guard Tyler Jordan (eye) as out for the game. Earlier Wednesday on the SEC teleconference, McElwain said Del Rio would travel with the team this weekend.
“You know what, I really care about these players”, McElwain told reporters. Appleby called the hit “very dirty” and talked of his readiness to take over if Del Rio does indeed miss time.
“He’s grown up around the game and seen how different guys have handled that”, McElwain said.
“We’ll try to get Callaway back a bit”, McElwain added.

“Obviously he’s spent a ton of time down in the training room”, McElwain said Wednesday morning. “They know how much I care. I got their back”. “But as good a news as it is, you know, he didn’t have to go under the knife yet, so that, to me, is a positive”. “Here’s the great thing about Florida, we have more than one of them”. Jones said the senior cornerback continues to have a key role on this team even while sidelined.
