Commissioners in Daytona Beach, Fla. have approved the opening of an establishment that includes both a gun range and a restaurant that sells booze to customers. However, he anticipates gun owners heading over to the restaurant after they shoot, not before.

He noted that similar gun range-restaurant complexes exist in other states, and haven’t had problems, and said that there will be equipment on hand to scan all driver’s licenses when alcohol is ordered.
Bussiness owner Ron Perkins told WFTV that those wanting to drink will have to swipe their ID, which would then ban them from entering the shooting range.
Perkinson said he would post signs warning that guns are not permitted in the dining area, however he admitted no employees would know if a person was legally carrying a concealed firearm without a metal detector.
He said he wasn’t trying to create an atmosphere where people would mix guns and alcohol to risky levels, but was giving them a rounded experience in which they could shoot, eat and drink in a proportionate and safe manner.
“To the critics I say, you’re right”.
“I’m not trying to mix the two. If you choose to have an alcoholic beverage and go home, that’s on you”. “Everything is going to be revolved around safety”, he said. He also plans to keep a watch list for potentially troublesome customers, and will have constant access to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database.
The Daytona Beach News Journal reports that the city council pointed out that the strict regulations the Florida man will enforce are actually a step up from those required by other shooting ranges that don’t serve alcohol.
