A Florida man received an unusual gift for his 53 birthday this week – adoption papers from his stepdaughter.
He skims through the papers and Gabriella asks him: “Do you know what that is?”
In a sweet gesture, Gabriella Lynde handed her mother’s husband with adult adoption papers.
“Adult adoption? What the hell is this?”
“I want you to”, Guardado said. You don’t have to, you can say ‘no, ‘ but I want you to adopt me. “You’ve been my dad and those legal papers don’t change anything”, Gabrielle responds. “I’m sorry guys, I don’t cry much”.
“Papers will not change the love I already have for him but now it’s official”, Gabriella said.
Because Gabriella is 22, she no longer needs her biological father’s permission; she can consent to the adoption herself.
She said that having Lynde take on the role of her father through the years, when he didn’t have to, meant an very bad lot to her “more than words can describe”.
She said David’s reaction reduced everyone in the room to tears.
She said: “To see his reaction just made parenting worth it”.
Since then, Lori Ann told Daily Mail Online that he has not been in her children’s lives.

Her three other children also want to be adopted by David but will do so in their own time.
