Florida poll: Clinton, Trump virtually tied
“While the last couple of weeks have been rocky ones for Hillary Clinton, and she has seen her lead evaporate in several swing states, right now IL remains firmly in her column”, said poll Director Christopher Budzisz, who also is a Loras associate professor of politics, in the release. “I get that”, Clinton, in a moment of self-reflection, told the crowd of 300 people.

She explained that the “service” part of “public service” has always been easier for her than the “public” part. Sanders drew thousands upon thousands of younger voters to his rallies – voters whom Clinton is now trying to attract.
Clinton said that young people she has spoken with to over the course of this campaign have expressed concerns about divisiveness and discrimination.
“You want something to vote for, not just against”, she told the crowd. “Clinton may be banking that simply not being Donald Trump will provide her an exploitable edge for the election”.
A new Loras College Poll shows Democrat Hillary Clinton with a commanding lead over Republican Donald Trump among likely voters in IL.
Younger voters overwhelmingly backed President Barack Obama in 2012 – giving him a 29 point lead over Republican nominee Mitt Romney, according to exit polls.
The latest strategy shift to woo them isn’t without risk.
Both Trump and Clinton tried to seize the high ground on Monday, although Trump arguably had an advantage by feeding perceptions that after eight years in the White House, the Obama administration has been ineffective against ISIS-inspired terrorism – even if the charge is arguably untrue.
Clinton’s personal memory of mistrusting public officials also reminds voters of the skepticism that has dogged her campaign – from the Clinton Foundation’s connections to foreign donors, to her use of a personal email server as secretary of state. Bernie Sanders, who successfully painted Clinton as too hawkish and trigger-happy. “We need everyone off the sidelines”, Clinton said Monday. She sought to contrast that with Trump’s wrecking-ball diplomacy, though the reality TV host-turned-politician is also set to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Still, she said, “I don’t enjoy some of the things that come naturally to most politicians, like talking about myself”.

“I remember wrestling with the challenge when I was a student during the Vietnam War”, Clinton said.
