Smith said the winning numbers are ones they have played for years, although they don’t buy lottery tickets regularly.
The winning numbers were 4-8-19-27-34, and the Powerball was 10.
John and Lisa Robertson of Munford, Tennessee, cashed in their ticket last month, also taking the lump sum.
If the victor does come forward, he or she will have an option of receiving the prize in a 29-year annuity, or a lump-sum payment of $327.8 million before taxes. “We kept watching TV, going online, and then they announced Publix Melbourne Beach and I said, ‘Uh-oh'”.
Florida alone generated $283 million in Powerball sales – more than $114 million/see add/rt of it will go toward education.
The Jan. 13, multi-state drawing marked the largest jackpot in history at $1.58 billion. “Publix is my second home, the people there are so nice, it was very hard not to tell anybody”. Split three ways, each winning ticket will be allotted roughly $528 million. “I’m afraid it’s going to make me less friendly”. The couple said they lost a lot of sleep after their win and Kaltschmidt admitted to losing 10 pounds due to stress.
“The Florida Lottery is all about creating winning moments and giving people the chance to fulfill their dreams”, said Florida Lottery Secretary Tom Delacenserie. “Obviously their lives are going to change dramatically and I wish them the best”, neighbor Bill Holmquist said.
Hey, you, happy couple from Melbourne, you now have so much money you could fill a room with $100 bills and frolic in it. How do you feel? MacKenzie, 84, naturally took the lump sum: $370 million.
