Florida’s offense must improve before LSU

As redshirt senior wide receiver Valdez Showers once aptly said it, “Our first install was probably like eight pages more than last year’s entire playbook”.

Two SEC unbeaten division leaders ranked in the top-10 in the polls. In particular, Florida’s offensive playbook is so much more evolved and better suited to the strengths of its players now.

Who knew Tim Tebow was so clairvoyant?

“It’s amusing because I was recruited here as a forward, so sometimes I feel like it’s unfair for me to be back there”, Falknor said. He got the nod over Harris to start the season and played alright, but he exploded against Ole Miss, going 24-of-29 passing for 271 yards and four touchdowns.

Mizzou leads the conference in total defense and ranks second nationally with 48 tackles for loss.

Florida State vs. Miami Prediction Florida State is not a great football team right now, and the injuries are troublesome.

“The comfort level is there”, tight end Jake McGee said. Florida has also cut down on penalties, with only four, for 30 yards.

No. 11 Florida has chance to go to 6-0. “Comparing last year to this year, it is a little more freeing”. The Gators’ offense struggled at times against the Tigers’ aggressive front, but junior Kelvin Taylor rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

The Gators get more impressive by the week. The Missouri offense stalled, however, and after Lock almost gifted Florida an interception, kicker Andrew Baggett converted from 21 yards out to pull the Tigers within 7-3.

Maybe beating Ole Miss will end that trend.

Without Hansbrough carrying 25 times, Mizzou was forced to look to freshmen and sophomores who just aren’t quite ready yet.

Grier’s play has been a primary reason for the Gators’ 6-0 mark, leading an offense that was woefully poor a year ago to marked improvement in 2015. The Tigers managed a field goal after their opening drive, but their ensuing 13 drives ended in nine punts, two interceptions, a turnover on downs and a missed field goal.

Things were promising to start the games as Lock’s first two throws went for 51 yards, connecting with receivers Wesley Leftwich and J’Mon Moore.

No. 11 Florida at Missouri: There’s a lot of football left this season, and Florida’s unexpected unbeaten start could still dissolve into disaster. Marcus Maye and Antonio Morrison each had six tackles.

After opponent adjustments, the Gators run defense is seventh in yards per attempt according to our metrics. Missouri is one victory away from joining Alabama and Auburn as the only SEC teams that now hold a winning streak of three or more games against Florida.

That was all the Gators needed in a 21-3 win over Missouri in an SEC game Saturday.

Missouri (4-1, 1-1) needs to make up ground for a loss at Kentucky in the conference opener. With that said, it’s one thing to be successful against subpar defenses like South Carolina, and another to look competitive against the likes of Florida.
