Florida Scheduled To Execute Serial Killer In First Execution Of The Year
Barring a last-minute stay from the courts – two petitions seeking a stay of execution are pending with the U.S. Supreme Court – Bolin will be put to death with three drugs, the first of which being the sedative midazolam.

He’s scheduled for execution at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Florida State Prison in Starke.
Rosalie Bolin maintained that her husband was innocent in Matthews’ killing, and she has become one of the state’s most outspoken death penalty opponents since her marriage.
“She was an exceptionally outgoing person”, Reeves said. “I’m at peace with myself”.
He says the victims’ families are not getting any justice with his execution.
Each of Bolin’s cases ended in new trials.
Bolin was found guilty 10 times by 10 juries for three different murders.
When Kathleen Reeves visited her murdered daughter’s grave on what would have been her 55th birthday, she brought flowers. “It’s my release. My punishment’s over”. “My punishment’s over. They can’t hurt me no more”, he added. By the time her parents got to the post office, the sheriff had grim news: an unidentified girl’s body had been found in a nearby rural area.
Rosalie Martinez Bolin, who now investigates death penalty cases across Florida, referred questions about the upcoming execution to her husband’s lawyers.
The cases went unsolved until someone called an anonymous tip line in 1990, when Bolin was already serving a 22- to 75-year prison sentence in OH for kidnapping and raping a 20-year-old waitress outside Toledo in 1987. The half brother later recanted his story, then reversed his position again. He said if it and any other appeals fail, he’ll file a motion to stay with the U.S. Supreme Court.
Brunvand said if he can’t block the lethal injection of his client, he too will be in the witness room as Bolin draws his final breath.
Oscar Ray Bolin told Fox 13 on Wednesday that he did not kill Teri Lynn Matthews.
“I say yes he’s going to die tomorrow, I think”, said Reeves.
The mothers of the three victims attended numerous trials together, according to the Associated Press.
Prosecutors successfully argued that the alleged confession of another OH killer, Steven Kasler, who killed himself before a hearing could be held, was unlikely to lead to Bolin’s exoneration – in part because Kasler had falsely confessed to other crimes.

Though Reeves has hoped for an apology from Bolin in the execution chamber, she doubts that will happen.
