Florida State Seminoles post

Evan Engram was targeted three times on Ole Miss’ opening drive Monday night. The redshirt freshman took a hard hit as he stepped into the throw.

Francois set the Florida State record for most passing yards by a quarterback in their debut.

“It was just an impressive win and I was just so happy for the players”.

A 28-6 barrage of offense by Ole Miss to start the game was suddenly awash.

Francois made plays with his arm and legs while playing in front of his home crowd in Orlando.

Seminoles freshman quarterback Deondre Francois was 33-52 for 415 yards and two touchdowns in his first game as a college quarterback.

Kicker, yes the kicker, Ricky Aguayo took the Seminoles faithful back to the days of Sebastian Janikowski as he booted six critical field goals, including three from 40+. FSU scored on nine consecutive possessions between the second and fourth quarters.

“I trusted in Coach (Jimbo) Fisher and my team”. “His teammates believe in him, and he’s a fighter”.

The Rebels blew a 22-point lead against No. 4 Florida State (1-0) in the Camping World Kickoff in Orlando. Primarily, Winston rips into the O-line for failing to protect Francois and star running back Dalvin Cook. I’ve gotta give credit to Ole Miss.

“It was a nightmarish second half”, said Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze.

But Aguayo added two more field goals to account for the final margin. The former could have been related to the fact that the running game was rather ineffective (they did generate only 68 yards on the ground), but those numbers are rather striking in a game that the Rebels led by three touchdowns at one point. Brown had in two receptions for 48 yards. Chad Kelly showed his flawless passing to gain the Rebels a TD in the first four minutes.

Here’s Walker lined up against a guard, and he just flat out beats him with a handsome swim move to the inside, and he uses his agility to close on the quarterback quickly after he beats the lineman. That eventually caught up to the defense, which lost starting corner Ken Webster to a left knee injury in the first quarter. The first quarterback to start as a freshman since James Winston.

Deondre Francois threw for 118 yards, and ran for another 65, leading the sudden surge out of the locker room. Kelly found Stringfellow and Taz Zettergren on passes of 21 and 37 yards, respectively. The offensive line and (especially) the defensive line look like they’re going to be fine, even without (respectively) Laremy Tunsil and Robert Nkemdiche. The Seminoles started the season as the 4th best team in the nation but may have left as the 2nd, due to their comeback win against the 11th ranked Ole Miss team.
