Martin County Sheriff William Snyder described Harrouff as “abnormally strong” and said that it took four officers and a police dog to tear him away from John Stevens’ lifeless body. “That’s what has people so disturbed”.

People kill people for many reasons, such as jealousy, a robbery or a drug deal, Snyder said.
He cared about people, he was just [a] charitable guy.
“Nothing was working”, Snyder said. “So, there’s no mental escape from the potential that this could happen to you”.
There are still so many questions about this troubling case.
Locally, he’s talked to neighbors, and he’s seen the shocked looks on their faces.
“There was an enormous a-mount of violence in that garage”, Snyder said. “I know that they can change me”, said Harrouff in the video, “Steroids really are not for me”.
“This is a handsome community with an upper-class neighborhood (and) upper-class people, and you surround yourself with those people hoping that you can make each other better and make the community better”, Larsen said. “Things like this happen even in a place like this where you think everything’s safe”. He is now stable and conscious but has been unable to speak because of a breathing tube.
“His finger was nearly severed by his own knife”, Snyder said. “As he was stabbing them, it looks like he nearly cut his thumb off”. Investigators can’t find any connection between Harrouff and the victims, and Snyder called the attack “as random as random can be”.
“Right now, there’s no hurry”, Snyder said. “He’s not going anywhere”.
Tequesta and Jupiter police departments helped sheriff’s officials, Snyder said, and a Tequesta police K-9 was used on Harrouff to get him off Stevens.
Harrouff was at dinner with his parents when he left after an argument with his dad. It looked like he walked north from the restaurant. Mina Harrouff told officers her son suddenly started acting strangely about a week ago and was claiming to be immortal and have superpowers.
According to the sheriff, Fisher only reported seeing the wife under attack.
Given his recent ramblings about his alleged immortality and superhuman strength, she was anxious about his state of mind – although she said she didn’t think he was a danger to anyone, police records obtained by the Palm Beach Post showed.
His mother Mina Harrouff called Jupiter police about three hours later.
Sheriff’s deputies in Martin County, Fla., thought they were being called to a routine crime scene. He declined to speculate ahead of test results but noted the gruesome slaying may be linked to synthetic drugs marketed as cheap substitutes for other stimulants.

A medical examiner ruled Tuesday the manner of death for Stevens and Mishcon was homicide, Snyder said.
The uni student is believed to have taken bath salts or a similar type of drug when he stabbed strangers Michelle Mischon, 53, and husband John Stevens, 59, before trying to eat the man’s face off.
“He’s doing well”, said Fisher’s mother, Sandra Fisher. That’s the neighbor, Jeff Fisher.
As of Wednesday, flowers had been placed in front of the single-story, beige home with a Spanish tile roof where the attack occurred.
