Florida triple murder may have been ritualistic killing

The three victims, all from the same family, were found after a welfare check on Friday, July 31, said Escambia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt.

The bodies of Voncile Smith, 77, and her sons Richard Smith, 49, and John Smith, 47, were discovered Friday in their Pensacola-area home, Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said.

Asked to elaborate, Morgan replied, “The method of the murder – blunt force trauma… positioning of the bodies – and our person of interest has some ties to a faith or religion that is indicative of that”.

Sheriff David Morgan says triple homicide may have been related to Witchcraft and a blue moon.

The murders of a mother and her two sons who were found bludgeoned to death with a hammer and their throats cut could be linked to witchcraft, police said.

Authorities haven’t released the identity of the so-called person of interest or detailed why they believe that person, who practices witchcraft, is tied to the case. The Smith family had a safe containing $7,000 in their home, but the suspect didn’t take anything of value in the aftermath of the crime, they said.

Though police investigators determined that Richard Smith had been an employee at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Morgan stated that according to officials with the Naval Criminal Investigative Services, there were “no issues involving … national security elements”.

The timing of the killings is also notable and coincided with last week’s blue moon, Morgan said, though he didn’t specify exactly how. Richard was shot in the ear, “as he came into the house”, and had his throat cut, Hobbes said. They are said to have been killed with a hammer and their throats slit.

Deputies also noted that the Smith family was “reclusive”.

He would not further explain this witchcraft aspect of the killings, saying; ‘There are different factions of [witchcraft].
