“Jamison and Kathryne Pals and their three children died as a direct result of the initial impact”, Crawford said.

A family of five who were planning to move to Japan to become missionaries have been killed in a vehicle crash on the way to a training session. “They were coming out to Colorado to go to an institution called Mission Training International” Britton said.
A fiery five-vehicle Interstate 80 pileup began when a distracted truck driver rear-ended a minivan at high speed, authorities said before the trucker’s first court appearance Tuesday.
Killed Sunday were: Jamison and Kathryne Pals, both 29, and their children, Ezra, 3; Violet, nearly 2; and 2½-month-old Calvin. Jamison was raised in Lino Lakes.
Kathryne was working as a preschool teacher early in their marriage, but Jamison had decided in his late teens that he wanted to do missionary work in Japan.
A point Jamison’s heartbroken father Rick Pals can attest to. “They were going to be there three to four years”, Vogan said. “Faith is what motivated them to become missionaries in Japan”.
He left the nonprofit in April to prepare for the birth of Calvin and their upcoming missionary work in Asia through the organization WorldVenture.
Weekly, 53 of Baker, Florida, will be charged in court Tuesday with five felony counts of motor vehicle homicide and one count of reckless driving in connection with a crash on Interstate 80 on Sunday that killed five people.
The family were four miles from Brule when they were struck by a semi-trailer into the path of three passing vehicles. “They had done short-term work in college. They also did work with their church locally (in Minneapolis)”.
WCCO reports a funeral service for the Pals family will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. As Christians, we look death in the face and see ultimate victory, not tragedy, because Jesus defeated sin and death for all of his people.
“Selfless is an understatement in the way they lived their lives”, Carr said. He said the families of Jamison and Kathryne “have been very touched” by the “outpouring of honest support” they have received. The two had sold their belongings are were planning on moving to Japan to share Christ with the Japanese people.
Andy Carr, the group’s vice president of marketing and development, said Jamison and Kathryne Pals were “amazing people” and good friends.

A spokesman for the charity said: ‘We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of the Pals family. “And so, we celebrate the fact that the Pals family is not dead, but more alive than ever because of the grace of God that is ours in Jesus Christ”.
