Florida walk-on Hodskins, born without hand, sinks basket
Hodskins made the University of Florida basketball team not because of his uniqueness, no, he made it because one hand or two, the kid can play some ball.

Florida dunked and dominated en route to an 89-65 victory over Jacksonville University, improving to 8-3 on the season in the team’s first home game in three weeks.
Hodskins only played a minute and unfortunately missed the free throw, but for him to go out and score a bucket on an effort like that is awesome. “It’s just disappointing from that standpoint because every time you’re between the lines the goal is to get a little bit better, to take a step forward in the right direction”.
Hodskins’ teammates joined with many in the arena in cheering for Hodskins, who at that point had been 0-for-5 from the field in his brief collegiate basketball career after having a standout high school career in Georgia.
“I was excited for him”, Finney-Smith said.
Added coach Mike White: “Really happy for Zach, a great young man, obviously overcoming an unbelievable adversity”. He’s a very, very likable young man. You could tell by the decibel level in the O’Dome when he scored. He would miss the free throw but finished the night with his first points as a Florida Gator.

Jacksonville was carried by guard Kori Babineaux along with forwards Darius Dawkins and Marcel White, who combined for 23 points in the half and put up 17, 16 and 14 in the game, respectively. “Proud for him, happy for him”.
