The leaked emails prompted primary runner-up Bernie Sanders to call for Wasserman Schultz’s immediate resignation.

Given all the work Wasserman Schultz put into planning this week’s convention, it’s understandable, if unfortunate, that she initially refused to walk away from her ceremonial duties of opening and closing the convention.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is resigning under pressure as Democratic Party chairwoman, a stunning leadership shakeup as party officials gather in Philadelphia to nominate Hillary Clinton.

Wikileaks posted emails suggesting the DNC was favoring Clinton over Sanders during the primary season.

The email leak unearthed messages from staffers appearing to show preferential treatment to Hillary Clinton – now the party’s presumptive nominee – over her Democratic rival Sen.

She made it clear to the crowd and the rest of us that she doesn’t intend to go anywhere, despite the clear damage she has done and continues to do to the Democratic party.

“If you don’t believe this election is important, if you think you can sit it out, take a moment to think about the Supreme Court justices that Donald Trump would nominate and what that would mean to civil liberties, equal rights and the future of our country”, he said.

Clint Davis is a reporter for the Scripps National News Desk. It looks more and more like Wasserman Schultz (and Clinton) were right to fight against the socialist’s attempts to take over the party.

It is a spectacular fall from grace for the tough-talking Florida representative, who became the first woman elected to chair the Democratic National Committee. “Let me know if there is anyone I need to speak with directly”, she wrote. On Sunday, the DNC announced Wasserman Schultz will resign as its head, effective after the 2016 convention. A CNN source said Brazile “will keep all her on-air commitments to us this week”.

Wasserman Schultz’s swift ouster underscores party leaders’ desire to avoid convention confrontations with Sanders’ loyal supporters.

Mr Trump, who has boasted that he can capture the support of disaffected Sanders voters, described Ms Wasserman Schultz as “over-rated”, adding: “The Dems convention is cracking up”.

“We know that the voices in this room that are standing up and being disruptive, we know that’s not the Florida we know”.

Mrs Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook, told ABC that Russian Federation was behind the email leaks in an effort to help Mr Trump win the presidency, something he described as “troubling”.

The other guidelines for the commission included a mix of Clinton and Sanders ideas, including expanding “eligible voters’ ability to participate in the caucuses” in caucus states (a gripe of Clinton’s campaign) and encouraging “the involvement in all elections of unaffiliated or new voters who seek to join the Democratic Party through same-day registration and re-registration” (a Sanders demand).

Debbie Wasserman Schultz isn’t having a good week, but before it went south, she talked a little trash. “She reached out to Secretary Clinton to notify her about that”. While they can’t deny Clinton the nomination, they can make a lot of noise.

The tensions reached fever pitch in May, when Wasserman Schultz openly criticized the Vermont senator’s response to a chaotic scene involving Sanders supporters in Nevada and even compared the situation to a “Trump rally”.

In recent years, however, TV news organizations have made an exception to the conflict rules by employing armies of party “strategists” to comment on political developments.
