Floyd Mayweather Jr. will face Andre Berto in September in Las Vegas
Khan has been lobbying for a fight against Mayweather since 2013, and had hoped that he will be chosen for the American boxer’s September 12 fight date.

Golovkin, on the other hand, just recently gotten out of a word war with a potential next opponent, Andre Ward, who claimed that the Golovkin can not last 12 rounds on a match with him on his weight division. Mayweather is now coming off a unanimous decision victory over Manny Pacquiao, which took place this past May at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.
Floyd Mayweather’s next and supposedly final opponent has been announced. But for the a year ago or so, Floyd has showed all of the signs of fighter who simply has no passion for the sport anymore. But on Monday, TMZ Sports reported that the Mayweather vs. Berto matchup had become “official”. Of course, they’ve also said this about eight previous Mayweather opponents, only to go back on their word and look for yet another monster to deliver a comeuppance to Floyd. Not so much because he’s great, but if he wants to fight Floyd, why doesn’t he come down to 147 pounds?
Heavy added that 23 of his 30 wins were knockout victories. Andre Berto is of course a talented fighter, with experience and a respectable record, but the likelihood of him posing any threat to Mayweather Jr.is nonexistent.
This approach is in stark contrast to how Mayweather prepared for his bout with Pacquiao, when he cut everything his chef deemed “unhealthy” from his diet. “You can’t come to my weight class and side-step me”, Ward told Boxingscene in an interview. Mayweather’s farewell fight may prove an effective way to put an exclamation point on those efforts.
I can’t say I’m familiar with Berto, but 33-3 is an impressive record.

While the elite of the sporting world can be forgiven for munching on the occasional Mars Bar or Kit Kat every now and then, you would think their diet would be strictly regimented while preparing for a major performance.
