Late Wednesday night, the Flyers said tests on Laughton were negative, but provided no more information. If Washington’s play during the prior three games is any indication, they should be right where they want to be. Braden Holtby has allowed four goals on 118 shots faced.

Their discipline was the biggest key coming into the do-or-die game.

The Penguins received word Wednesday morning that the NHL Department of Player Safety would not be pursuing a suspension for Letang, who was not penalized on the play.
