Foggy morning in Delhi, minimum temperature dips

Over 12 flights were delayed and two diverted at IGI airport on Friday due to poor visibility, VIP movement and airspace closure for the Republic Day rehearsal.

Most parts of North India on Friday reeled under piercing cold with Delhi recording the season’s lowest temperature at 4.2 degrees Celsius, even as foggy conditions disrupted road, rail and air services. One train was rescheduled.

He said arrangements are in place at the airport for any passengers who may have to spend extra hours due to delay in their flights. Dense for in Delhi and it’s adjoining areas continue to affect the visibility.

A railway official said, “As many as 16 trains were delayed and 38 were cancelled because of dense fog in the morning hours”. “Weather is likely to remain same in the coming days”.

While the maximum temperature for the day is expected to settle at 18 degrees Celsius, the minimum may settle at 5 degrees Celsius, the official added. The MeT department said, mercury dipped to minus 11.7 degree at Keylong, while Manali and Kalpa recorded a low of minus 4.6 degrees and minus 3.2 degrees Celsius.
