The Foo Fighters fan camp is now running wild with speculation after they told them that an “official band announcement” is coming tonight (Wednesday 2 March), Gigwise reports.
The band is now on hiatus after their Sonic Highways World Tour which spanned six continents from 2014 until late a year ago. Various reports are indicating that the legendary rocker is planning to go solo and at least one bandmate is none-too-pleased.
A spokesman for the band claimed that rumours of a split are “utterly ridiculous”, according to Entertainment Weekly, who cited the New York Post ” s story about “tension’ between drummer Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl the other day.
In 2015, the band released an EP titled St. Cecilia, along with a message from Grohl that hinted at leaving the project behind (via NME): “We could use a nice wander through the woods right about now”.
After performing at the Oscars and Grammys, you would think Dave Grohl would want a break from the limelight.
The Internet is abuzz with whispers that the Foo Fighters’ demise as a band is imminent.
