Washington allegedly helped harbor Cain.

Gold is a fourth-year medical student at the university and “a very active member of the Tulane community”, said Tulane University President Mike Fitts in a statement.

Gold’s cousin Bryan Baker lives in Jacksonville Beach and couldn’t believe waking up to the national news that his cousin had been shot – trying to be a good Samaritan. He added that anyone found to be harboring Cain will also be charged.

The man then shoots him in the stomach, the victim howling in agony and dropping to the floor.

Tulane University and the police department are offering $12,500 reward for any information about the shooter, who is still on the run.

Cain face charges of attempted first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping and armed robbery, said police.

“We are committed to tracking him down”, said New Orleans Police Chief Michael Harrison. “So I hope everybody’s okay and I hope they catch that guy and he’s put away forever”.

Twenty-five-year-old Peter Gold stops to help the woman, and the man pulls out a gun and shoots Gold. He managed to shoot Gold in the stomach instead. As the woman crumpled to the sidewalk, Gold backed up and turned against traffic on St. Mary, rushing to her aid.

The entire event was shot through a business’s security camera. Police identified Cain as the assailant Sunday.

When Gold reached the woman, the man pointed a semi-automatic pistol and demanded that Gold give him money, according to reports.

Below is the video of the robbery.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu said at a press conference Sunday he has confidence Cain will be arrested quickly.

Fitts also said on Friday that Gold is expected to make a full recovery, according to ABC News.

The woman was released from a hospital with minor injuries.

“Someone knows who he is, someone knows where he is hiding”, Harrison said.

Cain has a history of arrests.
