Football Game Between South Carolina Gamecocks, LSU Tigers Moved to Baton Rouge
This encounter was initially scheduled for the Williams-Brice Stadium, in Columbia, but the SEC has confirmed on Wednesday that this matchup has now been moved to Baton Rouge due to severe flooding.

The SEC Network had planned on hosting its “SEC Nation” show from South Carolina on Saturday, but moved to Knoxville, Tennessee because of the floods.
Louisiana State Police have since confirmed that they are now working with LSU police on a contingency plan to determine how they would provide law enforcement personnel if indeed the South Carolina game is played at Tiger Stadium.
Bleacher Report’s Barrett Sallee provided comments from South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier about the change of venue.
“We ask the Baton Rouge community to be welcoming and courteous, and if you are able to, please support the relief efforts in any way you can”, Alexander said.
Tanner said Williams-Brice Stadium field withstood more than a foot of rain from the weekend storms and is in good condition for players to use come Saturday.
Kickoff time and the TV schedule for the game have not been announced, nor has information about tickets, including refunds and credits. While LSU students and season ticket holders will have first priority on purchasing tickets for the event, all of the proceeds will go back to South Carolina.
Pastides said if he cancelled classes this week because 34,000 students was too much for the city’s damaged infrastructure to handle, he couldn’t justify bringing in 84,000 people for a football game.
South Carolina hosts Vanderbilt on October 17.
Coach Les Miles says he hopes fans will “put away their fishing rods” and attend the game. King, LSU’s athletic band director, confirmed the news on Wednesday.
“We’re fortunate where I live, there were no problems getting in and out”, Spurrier said Tuesday morning at a press conference. The university was expected to make almost $4 million through ticket sales. South Carolina (2-3, 0-3 SEC) will have just three home games and five on the road.

According to Rabalais, it appears that South Carolina will remain the home team and will get the home team-share of gameday revenues.
