Football players honor cheerleader diagnosed with Leukemia
As the players took the field, each of the 57 teammates placed an orange rose at Adamietz’s feet. Ashley Adamietz, a senior cheerleader for Foothill High School in Northern California, is fighting leukemia. The roses were orange as that’s the color designated for leukemia awareness. She expressed her gratitude on Twitter, saying she didn’t know where she’d be without the support of her family, friends, and her school. Her cheer coach, Becki Smith, told KRCR-TV the teen has been going through daily chemotherapy treatments ever since.

Head coach Joey Brown said it was the family taking “care of family business”.
Senior cheerleader Ashley Adamietz was rendered speechless by display of support.. That’s true no matter if it’s your relatives – or the local high school football team.
Sometimes what players do before they take the field is more important than what they do on it.

Adamietz tweeted she was “shocked, overwhelmed, and speechless”, not just by the football team’s lovely gesture, but also by all the support she’s gotten during her cancer battle.
