For kids wondering where Santa is, NORAD will tell them
The North American Aerospace Defence Command is tracking Santa. “Instead of reaching Santa, the phone number put kids through to the CONAD Commander-in-Chief’s operations ‘hotline.'” the release said. To celebrate, it is expected that Michelle Obama will be helping out with the volunteer work, and will be having phone calls redirected to her on Christmas Eve so she can provide eager children with an update as to Santa’s progress this year.

Microsoft once again partnered with the North American Aerospace Defense Command for an interactive website at noradsanta.org, where Santa’s reindeer-drawn sleigh can be seen making its way over countries around the world.
Last year, NORAD received more than 134,000 phone calls and answered over 6,500 emails.
And since he’s a thoroughly modern Santa, you can also track his path through apps, at NORAD’s Facebook page or by emailing [email protected].
Swamp Fox Airmen and their families welcome the arrival of Santa Claus at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., December 5, 2015.
The Jolly man in red has already visited children in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Kyrgyzstan, India, Afghanistan and Yemen, delivering over two billion gifts thus far.
These activities are in support of the NORAD Tracks Santa Operations Center at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, which leads the Santa monitoring effort. Phones ring constantly in the command center as volunteers remind kids to be thankful, to stay asleep tonight no matter what they hear, and to do their best to stay on the Nice list all year.
You can also call his helpers with any Christmas-related question at 1 (877) HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723).
“Our constellation of defense satellites “uses infrared tracking to keep pinpoint accuracy on the heat signature from Rudolph’s nose”, NORAD says in its promotional materials”. Other than the primary Santa tracker, which is also available on iOS, Android, and Windows 10, it has numerous other features as well.
