For nominees, Emmy Day can be a break from calorie counting
Yes, while we wondered if American Crime Story is overrated Emmy Awards, one of the voters seem to have made a decision to tell the truth and nothing but the truth about the nominations this year. But, two still remain and only time will prove her worthy of a win at Sunday’s primetime ceremony.

Not to worry, though: If you’re looking to impress your dog when you flip to the 2016 Emmy Awards while the latest episode of “Rob & Chyna” is on commercial, I’m here to help.
So there is plenty of potential for surprises going into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ big night at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater.
The 68 annual Emmy Awards will air live this Sunday on ABC.
The scintillating line-up does not end here as the Emmy fever continues with two of the most talked about Outstanding Comedy Series Nominees on the weekend of September 24 and 25.
Beyonce’s visual album is a first for HBO and could result in the creation of a brand new category, more fitting for a music-based special, with next year’s ceremony.
However, while we will be seeing plenty of those familiar faces Sunday night, there are also a few underdogs you probably missed.
The Emmy Awards air on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
So here’s the prediction: The big winners on Emmy night are HBO and FX, fueled by strong showings by “Game of Thrones” and “The People v. O.J. Simpson”.
Host Jimmy Kimmel attends the 68th Emmy Awards Red Carpet Rollout at the Microsoft Theater on September 14, 2016, in Los Angeles.
Epic fantasy “Game of Thrones” and biting political satire “Veep” are poised to repeat as top series for the second consecutive year, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a favorite to earn her fifth best-actress trophy for her role in the White House romp.
For the network as a whole, he told AFP, wins and nominations “strengthen the viewer proposition of what an FX original programme should mean to them, and I’d say that’s tremendous value”.
Acting-wise, there’s been recognition for Rami Malek (Mr Robot), Keri Russell (The Americans), Kirsten Dunst (Fargo), Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent), Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager) and Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) while Cuba Gooding, Jr., Courtney B. Vance and Sarah Paulson are all nominated for The People v OJ Simpson. However, the show’s narrative is also advancing; throughout the series, the Starks’ words have so ominously reminded us time and time again: “Winter is coming”. The show is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, and several of its actors also received nominations.
The show’s Emmy nominations are all in behind-the-scenes categories: Outstanding Cinematography for a Single Camera Series, Outstanding Main Title Design, Outstanding Visual Effects, and Outstanding Production Design.
Yet the fact that Netflix enjoys increasing numbers of Emmy nominations is a testament to the changing landscape of the television industry. Among the ladies, only Empire’s Taraji P. Henson and How To Get Away With Murder’s Viola Davis are representing broadcast networks in the best drama actress category.
“We are thrilled to be working with Facebook on so many exciting efforts surrounding the Emmys this year”, said Television Academy president and COO Maury McIntyre.
